Mom and Dad – Sept 2011

The summer for dad and I was absolutely wonderful. The highlight for both of us was being able to travel and visit with family. Dad loved his campout with Garry and many grandsons including Teague. While Judy and I had an absolute blast with Mariah in England. This trip however was very different as I was able to visit areas of England that I had never seen before. I loved the small villages but most of all the old churches, and their graveyards. It was the adventure of a lifetime. It was also a thrill to visit family some of which I did not think I would see again. The day before going to England we were called by the new stake presidency of the new Alpine Young Single Adult stake to be respectively high councilman and Relief Society mentor. It is like a mini mission as we visit and speak together to YSA wards of which there are 13 in our stake. We work closely with our local Highland Heritage Park YSA ward. The highlight to close our summer was a stake temple week during which we were able to go to the temple every day. I am excited now to begin some serious family history research, so be watching for opportunities to take names to the temple. I feel a great urgency to be busy in this work. My trip to England revitalized me in going forward with greater effort. Swiss days went well for Dad. And now he is making more flutes and looking forward to assembling a flute circle this winter. We are so grateful to our sweet Heidi for putting this together for us and look forward to anything and all you contribute. We love you, miss you, and hope to see you all soon. We will have Thanksgiving here and will contact you individually as plans are made. God bless you all!

Darren, Di & girls - Sept 2011

Hey Family!
We have had a crazy September! The girls have all been in school for a month now and are finally adjusting to their new teachers. Lily is in 2nd grade now and Sadie is in 5th. They both are in piano and soccer right now. They each have a game every Tuesday and Thursday and their last games are next week. Soccer is only six weeks and thank goodness because going to all those games is tricky! Besides soccer and piano Sadie is in dance once a week and Lily has gymnastics once a week. Sophie is also very busy. She started joy school with some neighbor kids and she also has a dance class and a music class once a week. So I have officially turned into a chauffeur driving everyone to all of their extra curricular activities.
Last week Sophie turned four and had a wonderful tea party with some of her friends. She loved getting presents and can’t wait for her birthday next year. Vana is walking now. She started her first steps last month and at ten and a half months is walking pretty well. She also started dancing to music and clapping this month. She is always so happy and smiley and loves to play with her sisters. They make her giggle all the time. She will be one on October 30 and we all can’t believe how fast the last year has gone by.
Darren got a promotion at work and is now the Group Facility Manager. He runs the clinic in Provo but he is also the head manager of the other clinics in Utah. He is liking work and is very busy.
I am busy making dinners, cleaning and helping my kids do their homework. It takes all of my time but I love it because I get to hang out with my girls. We are all just getting through each busy day and spending each night thanking our Heavenly Father for all that we have. We love you all and hope that you are well. Tanner, you are always in our prayers and your emails make our hearts swell. Thank you for your example!
